7 INSIGHTS FROM THE MONK WHO SOLD HIS FERRARI SUMMARY
Yes, I just finish the book ” The monk who sold his Ferrari” by Robin Sharma last week and have a great concept and detailed explanation that help me to understand some brilliant principles. Let me give the summary of the book in this blog post.
In my opinion, I love these books and the concepts are amazing and easy to use. The book revolves around 7 saints of sages that change your mindset and develop a calm and great mind that help you to develop success in your term and make you more aware of yourself. Let look at what is inside in the book “The monk who sold his Ferrari” by Robin Sharma. Let drive-in
THE BOOK REVOLVES AROUND 7 SAINTS OF SAGES. LET UNDERSTAND ALL OF THEM ONE BY ONE
1. MASTER YOUR MIND
Robin Sharma says that “ The mind is a wonderful servant but a terrible master”. This is real I completely agree with and if you also agree hit the upvote button. If you can control your mind you can win the game. A mind is just a tool but a very powerful tool. Just like our smartphones if we use them correctly they become powerful assets for us.
Robin Sharma says ” Controlling your mind is one of the greatest habits of most successful people in this universe”. The ability of yourself to force your mind to do the thing that looks does not important but we have to do things that really matter in the process.
Our mind is a supercomputer and our self-talk is a program. If you program your are stupid you are becoming stupid and if you program your mind that you are smart you become smart. We all want willpower that is necessary for controlling our minds.
2. FOLLOW YOUR PURPOSE
Robin Sharma says that “ The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. How deep he thinks. When you use your passion to serve others is called– PURPOSE. The purpose is very high compare to passion. Passion is something that you are passionate about but the purpose is when you use your passion to serve others. Great people have great purposes in life that make them great.
5 STEPS PROCESS TO FULFILL YOUR OBJECTIVE
THE FIRST STEP WAS TO FORM A CLEAR MENTAL IMAGE OF THE OUTCOME
Image the future you want to create yourself and visualize that you already achieve it. Find out what you actually want from life. If you say ” I want to complete that book” that is not look like a task and does not have any clear mental models.
If you say ” I will complete kaizen book in next 7 days and that change my life” the Second one is to look more clear and engaging.
CREATE A POSITIVE PRESSURE ON YOURSELF
When you are under pressure you can work better. Be committed to one thing don’t close fast. If you are not committed to something that matters you are not serious about life.
The work increase lot of thing. You can learn a lot of new things like how to work under pressure? How to tackle pressure? and a lot more. If you create positive pressure you can improve your life.
NEVER SET A GOAL WITHOUT ATTACHING A TIMELINE TO IT
If you set a goal for the future that looks real but the main reason people don’t achieve a goal is they never set a realistic goal. If you set your goal on time-based that automatically creates a positive pressure on you. Set a goal based on a timeline.
People say ” they want to earn a million dollars” but they never set time for it and even they never set a perfect goal. The perfect goal is to look like ” I want to earn 10 million at the age of 35″. Set a goal on time-based.
CHOOSE HABITS THAT INFLUENCE YOUR DECISION AND FOLLOW IT FOR 21 DAYS
If your goal is to be fit. That habits you really want to develop are dieting and exercise. All goals required some habits and little amount of time and willpower.
Follow anything for 21 days then compare yourself. People quit fast. They do anything for a month or maybe 3 months want to be a millionaire. That type of thing never works. You don’t decide your future, You decide your habits and your habits decide your future.
ENJOY THE PROCESS
People don’t love the process they always love the result. But the opposite always wins people who love the process, those people going to get results faster.
People always full of haterade they always complain about everything. The best you can do is love the process even you are hating it.
3. PRACTICE KAIZEN
The meaning of kaizen is improving yourself on daily basis with the small steps. Robin Sharma says that “ You only limits on your life are those that you set yourself”. All limitations exist only in your mind. I create a complete post on kaizen if want to read click here.
Take small steps maybe it looks the same but it creates a huge impact over a period of time. We think small steps do not create measure change but we think this according to this present moment. Think 5–8 ahead then you find the real truth.
All leaders in this world spend 1–2 hours daily on self-improvement. They are a lifelong learner and always ready to learn new things that is the reason that why they are world-class leaders. They spend a small time in learn and that learning gives them a very big return in the future.
4. LIVE WITH DISCIPLINE
Robin Sharma says that “ Through the steel of discipline, you will forge a character-rich with courage and peace”. I love this quote by Robin Sharma. This is one of my best quotes I ever listen in life. Discipline plays a very important role in the life of all people.
In the army, the most common trait all they have is discipline. In the army, people know that discipline is very important if you serving the nation. Discipline helps us to adopt new habits and leave bad ones. Discipline is important in every field of our career.
I think discipline helps you to be productive and always helps you to maximize the output. Every person has to be disciplined to live gratefully.
5. RESPECT YOUR TIME
This is not time management this is life management. If you want to be something great. Don’t give your time to someone who doesn’t value it enough. Always have the courage to say “No”.
Do the right use of time and believe that will pay off one day. Time is the most valuable asset that you can never create more. If you combine the wealth of the whole world, you can’t buy a second. We believe we have a lot of time but all people have limited time in this world.
6. SELFLESSLY SERVE OTHERS
Robin Sharma says that “ The quality of your life will come down to the quality of your contribution”. You can find real happiness when you give happiness to others. You can’t create happiness.
We always find happiness when we do something for others. All people believe that we get happiness by spending on ourselves wants but real people find happiness in their donation. People say they don’t have enough money to give. You don’t give millions of dollars a 10 dollar is enough for someone.
We help others and want others to help us when we need them that creates ego in ourselves that we give a lot of people to people and I am their life changer. The main motto to telling you the summary of the book “The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari” is to improve the life of yours and the environment around you.
7. EMBRACE THE PRESENT
“Forget the past you can’t change it, stop worrying about the future you can’t see it”. The most important thing is now. If we live in past, we always feel depressed because of past incidents and we always think about it. Most people are depressed because of the past.
If we live in the future, we always feel worried because of future possibilities. People always have fear in their minds and want to make the future. We always try to plan the future but the future is not in our hands. The best way to prepare for the future is to make yourself the power to accept reality.
The best way to deal with depression and fear is to live in present. If you give your full energy to work which you are doing right now that is the best thing and you can become best. Stop worrying, start living.
